Training with C&D!

Lego Therapy, Colourful Semantics, Attention Autism… These are just a handful of intervention approaches for which we offer training in the Essex and Bath/Bristol area! Over the last year we’ve had even more enthusiasm for our training packages in both the Essex and Southwest branches of our service. Staff in our colleges, schools, nurseries, and pre-schools have taken the opportunity to have some hands-on teaching on interventions and specific communication difficulties. Could training be beneficial for your setting?

Why will training be helpful in your setting?

In the UK we are often operating under a targeted service model, where staff are delivering interventions in between SLT reviews/therapy sessions. Staff have told us that they feel far more confident in following the therapy programmes handed over to them if they have been trained effectively! This means more children and students will be able to meet their targets!

Training can also be helpful if you want to learn strategies for the classroom, to make your setting a communication friendly environment. Finally, if your staff lack experience or awareness regarding specific communication difficulties or disorders, we can also help with that. We have packages on a range of needs, from Speech Sound difficulties to Selective Mutism. You’ll leave our sessions feeling more equipped in knowing when to refer for SLT and how best to support these children in their daily life.

How will the training be delivered?

Although we do offer face-to-face training in your setting, the pandemic has shown us how remote training can be more accessible for staff. Our team are friendly and engaging so whether you opt for a remote or face-to-face delivery of our training, you won’t miss out!
